NHK Hall is one of Tokyo’s largest and most prominent performance venues, renowned as the home of the NHK Symphony Orchestra. The hall hosts major classical concerts, opera, ballet, popular music and televised performances.
NHK Hall is a major multi-purpose performance venue located in Shibuya, Tokyo, and one of Japan’s most important cultural and broadcasting landmarks. Opened in 1973, it serves as the principal Tokyo venue for the NHK Symphony Orchestra and regularly welcomes leading international conductors, soloists and orchestras.
The hall accommodates up to 3,601 spectators across three seating levels, with 3,400 fixed seats and additional movable seats. Its large main stage measures approximately 25 metres wide by 20 metres deep and is supported by extensive side and backstage areas, making the venue suitable for large-scale orchestral concerts, opera, ballet and other major productions.
NHK Hall is also closely associated with Japan’s broadcasting culture, hosting a wide range of televised programmes and major public performances.
