Overview
Composers from the Royal College of Music transform award-winning Wildlife Photographer of the Year images into captivating musical miniatures. From intimate solos to dynamic trios, each piece carries you from ocean trenches to sunlit desert dunes in vivid sonic landscapes. In an innovative fusion of sight and sound, composers from the Royal College of Music unveil a sequence of short works for solo, duo and trio ensembles, each responding to a compelling Wildlife Photographer of the Year image. A cello solo channels the eerie quiet of deep-sea worlds, a piano and flute duo shimmers with the heat of desert dunes, and a spirited string trio captures the stark beauty of icy plains. Displayed alongside the musicians, each photograph guides the listener through an immersive expedition—from shadowy ocean trenches to golden sandscapes—inviting fresh perspective on the raw drama of the natural world.
