Enjoy thrilling performances featuring face-changing acts, fire-breathing shows, and folk arts in an authentic setting. Perfect for families and culture lovers.

Traditional Sichuan opera is famous for its face-changing performances and fire-breathing dances.

Sichuan Opera is one of the most renowned forms of traditional Chinese opera. It is especially famous for the rapid changing of performers’ masks and costumes.

This Sichuan Opera, celebrated for its lightning-fast costume and mask changes—within mere fractions of a second, an actor’s appearance and emotions transform, turning the stage into real magic. This technique is called Bian Lian (“face-changing”), and it is truly spectacular to witness.

Each performance, lasting about 70 minutes, showcases highlights of Sichuan opera and other art forms in the atmospheric setting of a traditional teahouse. Guests can also enjoy snacks and lidded tea (available at an additional cost) to fully immerse themselves in the experience.

This unique blend of art, history, and traditional performance makes the show a must-see for anyone wishing to discover the rich cultural heritage of Chengdu.
