About
Ensemble Connect, part of The Academy—a program of Carnegie Hall, The Juilliard School, and the Weill Music Institute—is a two-year fellowship providing the finest post-graduate musicians with performance opportunities in New York at the same time they are teaching in the city's public schools.
Ensemble Connect’s relationship with fellows continues after they complete the program. Alums return to perform with Ensemble Connect—formerly known as Ensemble ACJW—in New York City, serve as fellowship advisers to current fellows, participate in community engagement programs, and create collaborative music residencies worldwide. In recent seasons, alumni ensembles have participated in residencies and performed concerts through Carnegie Hall in Abu Dhabi, Iceland, South Africa, Spain, Mumbai, Tokyo, Mexico City, and Germany.
Since completing the program, Ensemble Connect alums have co-founded music ensembles and festivals such as Decoda, Scrag Mountain Music, Miami Chamber Music Society, and New York Chamber Musicians. They are members of orchestras and ensembles such as the New York Philharmonic, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, The Knights, Canadian Brass, and Bryant Park Quartet. Many alums also hold faculty and guest artist teaching positions at US universities and colleges.
