Rheingau Musik Festival 2026

The Rheingau Musik Festival 2026 invites music lovers to experience one of Europe’s most inspiring summer festivals, where outstanding performances unfold among vineyards, historic castles, monasteries, and elegant concert halls along the Rhine. From 20 June to 5 September 2026, the Rheingau region becomes a vibrant musical landscape, bringing together internationally acclaimed artists, exceptional ensembles, and unforgettable concert experiences.

Programme
Ludwig van Beethoven : Violin Concerto in D major, Op.61
Robert Schumann: Symphony no. 3 in E flat major 'Rhenish', Op.97
Overview

With its founder Barenboim conducting and the renowned violinist Clara-Jumi Kang, the orchestra will once again focus its concert this evening at the Kurhaus Wiesbaden on peaceful human coexistence and making music together.

Anyone who experienced the brilliant performance of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra at the Kurhaus Wiesbaden last year knows that with this orchestra and Daniel Barenboim, the audience is in the best musical hands. This coming summer, audiences can look forward to this same blend of sounds when the musicians perform Beethoven's Violin Concerto and Schumann's "Rhenish" Symphony. These two works, with their universal musical language, are perfectly suited to the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, whose work, especially in these conflict-ridden times, is perhaps one of the most important symbols of human coexistence and peace. For the craft of this ensemble, with its Israeli and Arab members, is international understanding made musical. Listening to and accepting one another, regardless of origin or history, is something the musicians of this orchestra have mastered to perfection. Since its founding in 1999 by Edward W. Said and Daniel Barenboim, dialogue has been paramount for all involved, alongside making music together.
