About
Martin Snell studied voice at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
He finished his training at the Zurich Opera Studio and then received a permanent engagement in St. Gallen, Basel and Lucerne. Since 2005 he works freelance. Engagements have taken him to the opera houses in Geneva, Monte Carlo, Prague, Sydney, London, the Theater an der Wien, the Staatsoper Berlin and the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, as well as to the Festivals u. a. in Baden-Baden, Lucerne, Bayreuth and Aix-en-Provence. His repertoire includes roles such as Sarastro (The Magic Flute), Surin (Queen of Spades), Death (The Emperor of Atlantis), Fasolt (Das Rheingold), Lorenz von Pommersfelden (Mathis the Painter) and Reinmar von Zweter (Tannhäuser).
